2017 HEAP Summer Cooling Grant to begin scheduling

Gary W. Ricer, Executive Director of GMN Tri-County CAC, Inc., is pleased to announce that GMN has been awarded a grant to assist low income families for the 2017 HEAP Summer Cooling Grant. The program will begin Monday, July 3, 2017 and end on August 31, 2017.

To receive assistance through the Summer Crisis Program an income eligible applicant/household must include:

• a member who has a medical illness that would benefit from continued electric service, verified by physician documentation or,

• a member who is sixty (60) years old or older

If the above requirements are met, the household is qualified to receive the following:

• ONE fan provided that the household has not received an air conditioner from HEAP/SCP in 2014, 2015 or 2016.

• And/or ONE payment. One-time payment benefits can be used for the following; Current Balance, Total Balance, 1st PIPP Plus, Deposits, New Accounts. If the maximum energy assistance benefit is not sufficient to restore or continue service, documentation that the customer has made a co-payment must be obtained prior to processing the SCP application.
