The Monroe County Park Board Staff cut the ribbon for the installation of new restroom facilities in a ceremony Saturday, Aug. 4 at Stafford Park. A big weekend for Stafford Park

Local history enthusiast John Ogden, who spends much time retracing the steps of Monroe County citizens through the years, said that Stafford Park is a gem.

“If this park could talk, what a history it would tell us,” he said. “There’s so much history here. It’s a very special place.”

The park has seen many years of milestones. This past weekend was a milestone in two ways.

Saturday, August 4, the park finally celebrated the ribbon cutting for the new restroom facility with flush toilets.
