Celebrating a lifelong passion for nursing

Linda Dick has always found her joy in helping others, and thanks to her love of nursing, the Monroe County Health Department recognized her 50 years in public service with a special thank-you during their Nurses’ Appreciation Week celebration Monday, May 7.

“My dad was a medic in France in World War I,” Dick said. “I got that love of taking care of sick people from him.”

The passion for looking after others was so strong that she saved $1,500 to put herself through three years of nursing school at Wheeling Hospital.
