Council dealing with budget issues, still working on addressing derelict buildings

Woodsfield Village Council had two pressing issues to deal, budget concerns and the problem of derelict structures in the village, during its regular meeting Monday, July 2 at Village Hall.

Fiscal Officer Misty Tolzda informed council that two departments, the Woodsfield Police Department and the village cemetery department, were close to working through their budget for the year.

Tolzda said the police department had run out of money in November of 2017, with the village supplying extra money from its general fund to cover the deficit.
