Rallying as a community to fight cancer

Beallsville Rally for Life raises more than $8,000 for families battling cancer

Holding his mother’s arm, the moment was almost too much for Beallsville sixth-grader Caleb Smith.

Two months ago, Caleb’s mother, Heidi Smith, was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Knowing his mother was in a battle for her life, Caleb could only hope for the best.

The future might be uncertain for the Smith family, but on Friday, May 4, they got to celebrate a small victory, as Caleb joined his mother for the Cancer Survivors’ Walk as part of Beallsville Campus’s Rally for Life.
