Village Council approves use of City Park July 29 for ‘Love Fest’

Woodsfield resident Audrey Lohrey has a vision of sharing God’s love with her community.

Lohrey sees a big event for Jesus, featuring worship, a cookout, face-painting for kids and, most importantly, the chance to help those in need.

She’s already received donations of toys and clothes – and hopes to get more.

But before she could go any further with her plans, Lohrey needed an OK from the Woodsfield Village Council.

During the council’s regular meeting Tuesday, June 6, Lohrey got the approval she hoped for, as council approved her request to use Woodsfield City Park for Lohrey’s vision, a “love fest,” as she called it.

Woodsfield Mayor Mike Cox said he was happy someone was putting the park to good use.

“The park belongs to the community,” he said. “I think the people should use it. I’d like to see more action down there.”

Council had a few requests before approving Lohrey’s request.
