Woodsfield Elementary teacher gets Distinguished Educator Award

Woodsfield Elementary School fourth-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher Susan Bondy was awarded the Battelle for Kids Celebrate Teaching Distinguished Educator last week at Ohio State University in Columbus.

The award is given each year to a group of educators who have had a powerful impact on students, colleagues and their community.

Bondy was one of 33 educators from throughout the state to receive the award this year.

Educators were selected for demonstrating evidence of great teaching in multiple ways, including academic, leadership and community measures.

“We are very fortunate and proud to have Mrs. Bondy here at Woodsfield Elementary, and we are very excited for this recognition (for her),” Woodsfield Elementary Principal Josh Ischy said.
