Beallsville Elementary’s butterfly whisperers

A donation from Roger Schumacher, of the Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation District, has helped Beallsville fourth graders become butterfly whisperers.

Schumacher had a butterfly display at the Monroe County Fair, which caught the eye of Switzerland of Ohio Grant Writer Diane Burkhart.

“(Schumacher’s) booth was set up at the fair and I saw it and said, ‘I can’t believe you are doing this. We planned on doing this (in the school district) and this would fit perfectly,’” Burkhart said.
