River Point-A-Thon benefits Texas school affected by Hurrican Harvey

River High School raised $2,025 for a Texas high school devastated by Hurricane Harvey during its football game with Monroe Central Sept. 8 at Martin Flannery Field.

To help the students and faculty of Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas cope with the mass relocation due to the hurricane, River students and the community raised funds, which River Principal Ed Trifonoff sent to the school Nov. 29.

In a letter to Kingwood, Trifonoff wrote, “Although we have never met and are separated by approximately 1,300 miles, I am confident this can be a start to a long lasting educational friendship”.
