Summer reading program encourages children to find a passion for books

A sea of little bodies wriggled their hands up in hopes of being picked to guess which nature sound guest speaker Daniel Caron was playing at Monroe County District Library’s Summer Reading Program Monday, June 4.

Caron pointed to one of the hands that had been up the longest.

“A parrot?”

“It’s not a parrot,” said Caron after the first guess.

More hands went up.
