Water truck takes a spill on SR 800

A brine water truck ended up at the bottom of a hill following a one-vehicle crash Sunday, June 2.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Charles Black, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 6:56 p.m. in reference to a water truck over the hill on State Route 800 near Dent Ridge Road in Center Township.

The crash was allegedly the result of a mechanical failure. It remains under investigation.

The driver, Patrick Timothy Reynolds, of Wheeling, West Virginia, had no apparent injuries in the crash.

Monroe County EMA was called to the scene by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

Monroe County EMA Deputy Director Jeremey Taylor responded to the scene.

He said there was a large spill as a result of the crash and Ohio EPA was called in to clean up the soil contamination.

The cleanup continued into Tuesday, June 4.
