The Sistersville Ferry season opening will be held Saturday, May 8. Tours of the renovated Russell House will be available. A reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and pedestrians can ride the ferry for free from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Russell House and Ferry are located at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Catherine Street in Sistersville, West Virginia.


Susannah Buck Cline Evans Memorial Stone Dedication will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday May 16 starting at the Jericho Cemetery, in Benton Township and will be presented by the Jericho Perpetual Care Organization. Susannah Buck 1750-1840 married Hans George Cline on June 8, 1770. After George’s death, she married Anthony Evans in 1808. She was buried in the family plot in Jericho Cemetery. Donations have made it possible to mark her grave with a memorial to Susannah, George and Anthony. Thank you to all who donated to the memorial. The afternoon dedication will include displays, tables of interest, history time, portrayals of Susannah Buck Cline Evans and Anthony Evans along with music in the church building by the group, Heart to Heart that features a flute, harp and cello. Everyone is welcome to come in period dress to honor the matriarch of so many from up and down the Ohio Valley. Bring a lawn chair, comfortable dress and be aware this is an old rural and early era church and cemetery without facilities. Covid-19 precautions will be observed.
