Norma Nadine Filipkowski, 95, of Woodsfield, Ohio, who left this world peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the home of her son Brent Filipkowski in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Born on January 17, 1929, in Washington County, Ohio, Nadine was the cherished daughter of Win and Bay Forshey. She built a life defined by faith, love, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. As a retired caregiver, Nadine brought comfort and kindness to countless lives, always putting others before herself.
She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church of Woodsfield where her faith was a source of strength and inspiration. Nadine had a gentle yet determined spirit, guided by wisdom, independence, and a heart full of compassion. Her courage and sense of adventure inspired those lucky enough to know her, and her radiant smile brightened even the darkest days.
Nadine now joins her husband, Edward Filipkowski; her beloved daughter, Karen Filipkowski; and her brothers, Quentin and Gilbert Forshey, in eternal peace. Though their loss leaves an ache in our hearts, we find comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.
She is survived by her loving sons, Keith Filipkowski of Erie, Pa.; Carry Filipkowski of Northeast Pennsylvania; and Brent Filipkowski of Chillicothe. Nadine was also a proud and adored grandmother to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched deeply, and a treasured friend to many who will forever hold her memory dear.
In her later years, Nadine courageously faced dementia with grace and dignity, supported by the love of her family. In her honor, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Council for Cognitive Health to support others facing the challenges of this disease.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Nadine’s life during visitation on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 2 – 7 p.m. at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home in Woodsfield where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, with Rev.
