Clifford Liniger Jr., age 96, of Woodsfield, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at Arbors of Woodsfield.

He was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Clarington, the son of the late Clifford George and Rosella (Muldrew) Liniger.

He was a retired coal miner for Quarto #4 mine in Clarington, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, and a 75-year member of the former Clarington Church of Christ and American Legion Post #760 in Hannibal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Christman) Liniger; five siblings, half-sister, Virginia Truax, Pearl Miller, William Liniger, Harry Liniger and Doris Kastrevec.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Burlingame, of New Martinsville, West Virginia; a son, Randy Liniger, of Clarington; five grandchildren, John (Lisa) Wiggins, of Surprise, Arizona, Randy (Kara) Liniger, of Mesa, Arizona, Paul Liniger, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Betsy Liniger, of Sarasota, Florida, and Tessa (Eric) Wisen born, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Brandon (Ashton) Liniger, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brook and Brenna Liniger, of Mesa, Arizona; and one great-great granddaughter, Blakey Liniger.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Grisell Funeral Home 125 Clarinda Dr. Clarington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021, with Jack Turner officiating.

Interment will follow in Clarington Cemetery with Military Honors.
