Dean “Bear” Gramlich, 78, of Beallsville, died Friday, October 19, 2018, in Barnesville Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 24, 1940, on the family farm near Jerusalem, the youngest child of the late Clay Dean Gramlich, Sr. and Gladys Fraley Gramlich Fair.

Deanie was a farmer and a retired employee of the former Conalco Plant near Hannibal. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #2247 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2302, both of Woodsfield. He worked most of his life for the Democratic Party and served as past Vice-Chair of the Monroe County Democratic Party.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 56 years, Judy Truex Gramlich; his daughter, Judeana Gramlich; two grandsons, Trae and Jacob Fogle, of Jerusalem; also several nieces and nephews. Nothing gave Deanie greater joy than his grandsons and spending time on the farm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ben Gramlich; his sisters, Glenna Powell and Mary Lou Tisher; his step-father, Richard Fair; his brothers-in-law, Virgil Tisher and Bill Powell; also his sister-in-law, Nelda Gramlich.

Visitation was held Tuesday at Harper Funeral Home in Beallsville, with funeral services held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 24. Interment follows in the Ozark Cemetery, near Beallsville.
