Donna Marlene Mahoney, 85, of Woodsfield, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of the Ohio Valley, Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was born near Woodsfield, on April 13, 1935, a daughter of the late Joseph and Oweda Jones Kinney.

Marlene was a retired custodian for the Switzerland of Ohio School District, Woodsfield, and an Avon representative for 43 years. She was also a member of the Graysville Church of Christ, Graysville.

Marlene enjoyed talking with people and helping others. She enjoyed spending time at the farm, going to church and taking care of her brother, Ronnie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Pete” Mahoney on Aug. 28, 1989; two sisters, Lorna Kuhn and Mabel Koehler; a brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Kinney who passed away the next day on May 15, 2020; and a grandson-in-law, Chris Robinson.

Surviving are her son, Timothy Mahoney and his companion Jan Cool, of Woodsfield; one stepson, Pete (Virginia) Mahoney Jr., of Canton; one sister, Marie (Jerry) Rose of Woodsfield; three grandchildren, Kristi (Mike) Ailiff, Jennifer Mahoney, Dawn Robinson; six great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren, Melissa Mahoney, and Scott Mahoney.

Abiding with the State of Ohio recommendations for social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, a private visitation will be held for family only Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, with Sam Bartrug officiating.
