Elaine Nething, age 93, of Hannibal, passed away July 8, 2018, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, West Virginia.

She was born June 15, 1925, in Woodsfield, the daughter of the late Earnest M. and Corynne M. Williamson Knowlton.

Elaine was the former owner of Mann Insurance, Woodsfield, and a member of the Duffy Church of Christ

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Robert and Charles Knowlton.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Gilbert L. Nething; a son, Richard (Caroline Dixon) Mann of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; two daughters, Nancy (Robert) Galasso of Georgetown, Kentucky and Penny (Travis Dudley) Baxter of Peoria, Illinois; two step-sons, Dennis (Jessie) Nething of Glen Dale, West Virginia and Donald (Kathy) Nething of Hannibal; one step-daughter, Linda (Alan) Mack of Marysville; a sister, Patty (Carlos) Mellott of Beallsville; ten grandchildren, Adam (Lanie) Galasso of Pace, Florida, Arianne (Ryan) Zencka of Lexington, Kentucky, Anthony Mann of Moundsville, West Virginia, Aaron (Toma) Mann of East Liverpool,  Andy (Amanda) Winland of Barnesville, Donnie (Traci) Nething of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Craig (Melissa) Nething of Maryland, Andrew (Jeri) Nething of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Jeremy Smith of Charleston, South Carolina and Justin Smith of Hannibal; nineteen great-grandchildren.

Family received friends on Wednesday, July 11, at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, where services were held Thursday, with Evan. Greg Yost officiating.

Interment followed in Emma Grove Cemetery, Hannibal, Ohio.
