GRACE MORRIS ROBERTS
Grace Morris Roberts, 82, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Wheeling Hospital. She was born in Beallsville August 27, 1936, a daughter of the late Kennard (Skip) and Lela Morris.
She graduated from Beallsville High School and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Mary-wood College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Grace retired from Ameritech where she worked for 40 years. She was a past president and lifelong member of the Steubenville Council of the Telephone Pioneers of America, as well as a member and past president of the Woodsfield VFW Auxiliary #5303. Throughout her life, she was an avid archer in both hunting and championship competitions and breeder and owner of AKC show dogs. She loved gardening, cooking, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Harley Boughner; and her brother and his wife, Paul and Marjorie Morris.
She is survived by her daughter Saundra Sofia, of Woodsfield; son, Scott Christman, of Warwood, West Virginia, and his children, Jacklynn and Jacob. She is also survived by a step-son, Michael Roberts, and his daughter Lydia; a step-daughter, Dawn Roberts, and her sons, Josh and Cody; and several well-loved nieces and nephews.
Friends were received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, with Rev. David Cottrell officiating. Burial followed at the Beallsville Cemetery in Beallsville.
