James Forrest Moore, 87,  of Tucson, Arizona,  passed away Monday, April 22, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by all nine of his children and their families.

Jim was born on June 28, 1931, in Woodsfield, a son of the late Everett and Phyllis Agin Moore.

Jim served his country, worked at the University of Arizona, for the State of Wyoming, and for the City of Huntington Beach, California. Upon his retirement, one of Jim’s colleagues quipped that he had never met a man with so much integrity and if anyone could walk on water, it would probably be Jim Moore. He had many achievements, but Jim would say his greatest was his marriage to Marian V. Mount and their nine children.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Marian, and his grandson, Danial Bartlett.

Surviving are seven daughters and two sons, Linda (John) Bartlett, of Tucson, Arizona, Jackie (Dick) Pendleton of Las Vegas, Nevada, Terri Jarrett of Cocoa Beach, Florida, James (Natascia) Moore, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robyn (Tim) Blevins, of Peoria, Arizona, Pam (Steve) Cardamenis, of Bothell, Washington, Elizabeth Haws (Stuart) Card, of Gilbert, Arizona, Ted (Julie) Moore, of Grantsville, Utah, and KJ (Brian) Hart, of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also survived by his only brother, Jack (Joan) Moore, of Prescott, Arizona; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Family and friends will pray the rosary on May 6, 2019, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Tucson, Arizona followed immediately by a celebration of Jim’s life and funeral Mass at 10 a.m.

A private burial will take place at East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona.  

In lieu of flowers or gifts memorial, contributions may be made to your local Catholic Church in Jim’s memory.
