Jay Arthur Hamilton, 70, of Delaware, Ohio, formerly of Jerusalem, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Arbors of Delaware in Delaware, Ohio. He was born July 27, 1949, a son of the late Charles and Lois Young Hamilton, of Lewisville.

He lived in Jerusalem until moving to Delaware in 2013. Jay graduated from Skyvue High School and then from Bethany College. He worked as a coal miner before teaching at the Monroe County Achievement Center, where he also coached the Special Olympics team. Jay was an avid golfer, hunter and traveler.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles “Butch” Hamilton and Greg Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Baker Hamilton; children, Aaron Talbot, Terry Talbot and Jody Everett; and four grandsons, Austin, Aiden, Jakob and Lukas.

Friends received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio, with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Beallsville Cemetery, Beallsville, Ohio.
