Lawrence Michael Tomaszczyk, Sr., 80, of Woodsfield, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born in Steubenville, on Jan. 7, 1941, a son of the late Michael and Tafilia (Zekes) Tomaszczyk.

He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Steubenville in 1958. He owned and operated a drywall business for more than 50 years and raised cattle on his Woodsfield farm. Lawrence was also a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church of Woodsfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Diroll Tomaszczyk in 2005; a sister, Paula Greskovich; and a granddaughter, Theresa Tomaszczyk.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Hudkins) Tomaszczyk, who he married on June 19, 2007; children, Larry (Martha) Tomaszczyk Jr., of Lakeland, Florida, Kerry Bowdish, of Winter Haven Florida, and Bridget Cecil, of Moundsville, West Virginia; a sister Mary Kay (Dominick) Sisinni, of Follansbee, West Virginia, sister-in-law, Brenda (Bill) Coffield, of Moundsville, West Virginia; three granddaughters, Jill Tomaszczyk, of Washington, Pennsylvania, Sara Bowdish, of San Diego, California, and Savannah Bowdish, of Jacksonville, Florida; one great grandson and two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, with Fr. Timothy Davison officiating. Burial will follow in the Limestone Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Moundsville, West Virginia.
