Ruth Thelma Roset, 75, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, formerly of Smithfield, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord July 13, 2014. She was born Aug. 17, 1939, the daughter of the late Donald Leroy Compston and the late Ruth Virginia (Neely) Compston. She had a giving heart to anyone in need and a huge believer in faith and prayer. She was a loyal contributor to charitable organizations including the 700 Club and Trinity Broadcasting Network. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a devoted friend to many. She was always there if you needed someone to talk to, sound advice or a shoulder to cry on. This world is a much sadder place without her, but heaven received an angel who truly had a heart of gold. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Joseph Roset of Tuscaloosa, AL; a son, Ronald (Debbie) Roset of Moundville, AL; a grandson, Timothy Roset of Woodsfield; a granddaughter, Stacey Roset of Lewisville; a great-grandson, Tristan Piatt of Lewisville; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Babcock of Woodsfield; and nine cats. She leaves behind many friends and family who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Edward Ray Roset; and a brother, Donald Eugene Compston. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held July 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Hopewell Cemetery with Pastor Roger Wayne officiating. Arrangements were made with the help of Grisell Funeral Homes.
