Virginia (Ginny) F. Hanahan, age 85, of Germantown, passed away March 25, 2019 at home.

She was born in Hannibal, Ohio, to the late Walter and Josephine (Oletschy) Dennis. She graduated from New Matamoras High School, retired from National Cash Register (NCR) and was a member of the Germantown United Methodist Church.

Virginia loved her family, was a tireless giver, enjoyed music, her animals and she loved to cook. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Marjorie Schindler and two brothers, Walter Lee Dennis and Robert Dennis. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William (Bill); two sons, Greg (Etta) Hanahan and Doug (Lisa) Hanahan; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene and Gordon Dennis; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held at the Germantown United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 30, and burial was at the Germantown Union Cemetery.

The family received friends prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Virginia’s memory. Arrangements were handled by Arpp, Root and Carter Funeral Home, Germantown. Online condolences can be made at
