Opal Jean Love, 84, of Summerfield, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at the Grant Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born at Caldwell, on Feb. 8, 1938, a daughter of the late William and Madge Mallett Crum.
She was a homemaker and seamstress and was honored to make the dress for the 1977 Queen of the Sternwheel Festival, Marietta. She was a member of the Summerfield Church of Christ, Summerfield. Jean also was a former cook and reading aid at the Chandlersville Elementary School, Chandlersville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Love, on Dec. 19, 2014; an infant son, James Love; a daughter, Susan Jean Love; and a brother, Kenneth Ray Crum.
Surviving are three sons, Frank Love, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Thomas Love, of Chandlersville, and John (Carrie) Love, of Parkersburg, West Virginia; one sister, Betty (Dean) Wells, of Lower Salem; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, with Jimmie Moore and Matthew Love officiating.
Burial followed in the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford.
The family wishes special thanks to the elders of the Summerfield Church of Christ, to the ladies who helped prepare her a daily meal and to Carolyn Neiswonger who was her caregiver for several years.
