65 Years Ago - 1952

The Triadelphia Blue Eagles, snappy colored girls’ baseball team, bowed to the local lassies Sunday afternoon, 6 to 3, with Mary Weddle striking out thirteen batters and slamming a homerun with two on. She had help from “Gertie” Moose and Thelma Reischman.

A ten-second earthquake or tremor which was registered as occurring in southeastern Ohio about 4:30 a.m. Friday was apparently too light to be noticed by anyone in Woodsfield. The tremors were felt in Zanesville and recorded by scientists at Ohio State University.
