Ralph “R.E.” Emerson Hall, 86, of Sardis, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, while at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, West Virginia.
“R.E.” was born June 29, 1934, in Fly, son of the late Francis M. and Clara Belle (Straight) Hall.
He was a retired crane operator for the former Ormet Corp. In 1960 he joined the Sardis Volunteer Fire Department and later served as the fire chief for twenty-five years. He was a member and elder of the Sardis Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Twila Mae Hall.
Surviving are his two sons, Greg (Lori) Hall and Doug (Rhonda) Hall, both of Pickerington; five grandchildren, Joe (Sarah) Lohr, Benjamin (Jessica) Lohr, Joshua (Kaleigh) Hall, Abigail (Cameron) Haynes and Kaitlyn (John) Forshey; five-and-a-half great-grandchildren, Bayley, Ellie, Jack, Maverick, Leo and another granddaughter due in April; sister, Iva Lou Martie, of New Martinsville, West Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends were received Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, West Virginia, where services were held Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. Burial followed in the West Union Cemetery near Sardis.
