Robert D. Hilverding, 83, of Stafford, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at his home.

He was born at Lebanon, on Nov 7, 1939, a son of the late Paul and Ruth Hall Hilverding.

He was a retired station engineer from the Columbia Gas system. He was a member of the Stafford United Methodist Church, Stafford, and also the Stafford Lodge #300, F. & A.M., Stafford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Hilverding, a son, Sean Hilverding, and a sister, Jean Zwick.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Martin Hilverding, whom he married on July 25, 1959; five sons, Brian Hilverding, of Waterford, Matt (Becky) Hilverding, of Waterford, Joe Hilverding, of Whipple, Todd (Monica) Hilverding, of Waterford, and Trevor (Maranda) Hilverding, of Mansfield, Ohio; one sister, Karen Fortney, of Lebanon; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A private funeral will be held at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, with Pastor Jim Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford.
