ROGER GALE HANEY

Roger Gale Haney, 69, of Lewisville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta.

He was born in Rinard Mills, Nov. 22, 1952, a son of the late Ralph and Betty (Hanlon) Haney.

Roger retired from the U.S. Postal Service and carried mail in Barnesville, for 25 years, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam-era, and was a longtime volunteer of the Lewisville Fire Department. He loved collecting coins, enjoyed farming and gardening, and was an avid fisherman. He was a former bowler, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Ronald and Faye Love; siblings, Fred, Carl, Cindy Haney; sister-inlaw, Millie Haney; and brother-in-law, Wayne Forshey.

He is survived by his wife, Debra (Love) Haney, who he married June 8, 1974; son, Andrew Haney, of Lewisville; daughter, Shanaka (Katie) Ha n e y – McGowa n ; grandchildren, Kaleb, Reagan, Taylor, and Addison Karcher, of Marietta; brothers and sisters, Karen Forshey, Robert (Debbie) Haney, Ruth Schultz, Judy (David) Stoneking, Janet (Tim) Durham, Marion (Tracey) Haney, Earl (Barb) Haney, Ralph Haney; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doris Haney, Michael (Carol) Love, Douglas (Cindy) Love, Mitchell (Lisa) Love, Landon Love, Lisa Love, Stacy (Will) Weddle; many special nieces and nephews; close family friends, Debbie DeVitis and the late Richard DeVitis, Joyce Johnson, Gail Lewis and her children, Butch and Patti Damewood, Jeremy Keller, Mary Ennis and Glen Sarnowski and the late Linda Sarnowski.

Friends were received Monday, Oct. 3, 2022 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, where funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, with Rusty Atkinson officiating.

Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Lewisville.
