Ross M. Frye, 85, a resident of the Stellar Care Center, Woodsfield, died Friday, June 12, 2020, at the center. He was born February 2, 1935, near New Matamoras, a son of the late Samuel and Laura Pugh Frye.
Ross was a retired employee of the former CONALCO plant near Hannibal, however in his heart he never retired from his favorite vocation, farming. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his children, Debbie Frye, Steve Frye and Vicki Frye, all of Beallsville; Doug (Jodi) Frye of St. Clairsville; a brother, Perry (Inez) Frye of Hannibal; four grandchildren, Jami (Zach) Matz, Tyler Spence, Simon and Brooke Frye. In addition to his parents, Ross was preceded in death by his twin sister, Rena Crawford; also siblings, Florence Longwell, Verda Fankhauser, Elma Grasso, Nan Murphy, Elsa Frye, Carl Frye, Paul “Dink” Frye, Pearley Frye, Sam Frye, Leo Frye, and an infant brother, Orville Frye.
Visitation was held at the Harper Funeral Home Monday, June 15; graveside services followed on Tuesday, June 16 in the Beallsville Cemetery with Minister Mike Henthorn officiating. In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions may be made in Ross’s memory to “Beallsville Rally for Life,” c/o Kathy Rees, 41515 North Park Drive, Beallsville, Ohio 43716.
