Roy J. Moore, 74, of Clarington, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital surrounded by his family.
 Roy was born March 23, 1949, to the late Roy F. Moore and Freda C (Dierkes) Moore of Miltonsburg, Ohio.
 Roy was a skilled welder by trade, retired coal miner and a Navy Vietnam veteran. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time in his shop welding and fabricating. Roy was a member of the Clarington Masonic Lodge #597, Ohio Knights Templar, and an Honorary Member of the Clarington Fire Department. Roy loved spending time with his grandson and his pride and joy, Jagger Knight.
 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Jenean (Dillon) Moore.
 Surviving are his daughter Jenny (Dusty) Stutzman and grandson Jagger Michael Knight, all of Clarington.
 A special thanks to Roy’s lifelong friends, Roy Rader and Rodney Brown, both of Clarington and Marsha Harrigan, also of Clarington.
 The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. with Masonic Services at 6 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington. Funeral and military services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Christy Thomas and Honor Guard officiating.
 Interment will follow at St. John’s Church Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
