A. Ruth “Ruthie” Ricer, 59, of Woodsfield, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glendale, West Virginia, due to vascular complications.
She was born at Barnesville, on May 24, 1963, a daughter of the late James F. and Dorothy Hooper Ricer.
She was a project coordinator at Generations Complex, Woodsfield, and was a former director of the Monroe County Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the First Baptist church, Woodsfield.
Ruth enjoyed decorating and taking care of her dogs. Even though vascular complications took her from this world, her loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community. Her heart and passion was for the senior citizens of our community. She dedicated her life’s work to the Senior Center and most recently the Generations Complex.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Darla Wiggins; a nephew, Randy Ricer Jr., and a niece, Misty Frymyer.
Surviving are her beautiful daughter, Alli Wilcox, of Woodsfield; her life companion, Deven Howell; one sister, Karen Holdren, of Woodsfield; three brothers, Randy (Luella) Ricer, of Graysville, James F. (Betty) Ricer Jr., of Woodsfield, and Kim (Helena) Ricer, of Woodsfield; a niece, Andrea Watson; two nephews, Roger Frymyer, and Eddie Ravak; and her fur babies, Jack Jack and Buddy.
A Celebration of Life service was held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, 114 North Paul St., Woodsfield, with Brian McKee officiating.
Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
