65 Years Ago - 1952

A ten-second earthquake or tremor which was registered as occurring in southeastern Ohio about 4:30 a.m. Friday was apparently too light to be noticed by anyone in Woodsfield. The tremors were felt in Zanesville and recorded by scientists at Ohio State University.

Sheriff F.L. Sulsberger, Jr. reports for the month of April there were 29 prisoners and some of the offenses charged include the following: drunk and fighting in place of business; safe burglary; stealing sheep; delinquent child; stealing gasoline and other personal property.

Miss Mary Judith Christman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Christman, of Lewisville, has been chosen valedictorian of the Summit Local graduating class of 1952. Myron Coy Cline, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cline, of Lewisville, has been selected salutatorian.
