Shirley Arlene Thomas, 68, of Beallsville passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, July 7, 2025.
She was born in Barnesville Hospital on May 10, 1957, a daughter of the late William Delmore and Frances Arlene Meek Thomas.
Shirley was a member of Beallsville First Christian Church and also Beallsville American Legion Auxiliary #768. She and her special friend, Cora Tomolonis, enjoyed helping with the various events at the American Legion and also spending time with new friends they had made through the Monroe County Senior Citizens program. Shirley will be remembered by everyone who knew her for her kind heart and her eagerness to help others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Thomas, a close friend, Sharon Smith Baker, also her companion of many years, Richard “Dickie” Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are a sister, Joan Jenewein; a brother, Lowell “Pete” (Judy) Thomas; a sister-in-law, Wanda Thomas; several nieces and nephews; also many friends. Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2025, at Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville. Inurnment will take place beside her family in the Beallsville Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions may be made to an organization close to Shirley’s heart, Beallsville American Legion Auxiliary #768, 52651 Broad Street, Beallsville, OH 43716.
