Area softball teams moving on

Two area softball teams started their sectional tournaments with victories Saturday, May 5.

Monroe Central was the seventh seed in the Division IV tournament and hosted 12th-seed Steubenville Catholic Central.

It was an evenly matched game throughout, with neither team able to pull away.

Monroe Central broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning with two RBI hits including an RBI double from Allee Zwick that gave the Lady Seminoles a 4-2 lead.
