Monroe Central picks up two wins in Monroe County Bash
The Lady Seminoles proved to be the dominant area softball team Friday, April 14 as they picked up wins over River and Beallsville in the Monroe County Bash at Sardis.
Monroe Central started against River and – thanks to a big hit from Cheyenne Williams – grabbed a 3-1 victory.
Williams delivered a two-out, three-run single with the bases loaded in the fifth inning.
In the circle, Kayla Logston limited River to one run on six hits in the victory. She struck out six and walked one.
The Lady Pilots were threatening with two on and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but Logston got out of the jam for the victory.
For River, Bailey Caldwell struck out two in seven innings.
Emilie Heater had a single and an RBI and Lexi Piatt two hits and a run scored.
In addition to Williams for Monroe Central, Haley Kendall and Kaitlyn Matz had a single and a run scored.
