River Elementary’s Bier finishes second at Youth State Tourney

Marshal Bier, a 12-year-old Beallsville resident, recently finished as the runner-up in the 2017 Ohio Grade School State Wrestling Tournament March 25-26 at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown.

Bier entered the tourney as the 11th seed and battled his way through the matches with four pins to make it to the finals.

He finished the tournament in second place place in the Division IV 180-pound weight class.

Bier is a five-time state qualifier and a four-time state placer, placing third in 2014, sixth in 2015 and first in 2016 in addition to his second-place finish this year.
