STELLA T. CRUM

 Stella T. Crum, 97, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Valley Hospice Liza’s Place, Wheeling, W.V.
 She was born near Lewisville, Ohio, (Burkhart) on November 10, 1926, a daughter of the late Aloysius and Cecilia Schwallie Burkhart.
 Stella was a loving wife to her husband Paul for 64 years. Her purpose in life was to serve God and her family. She worked on the family farm and was a homemaker raising her nine children. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, Ohio, where she previously was a member of CWC and St. Francis Society. In the past she acted as a Eucharistic minister for St. John’s, serving the nursing homes. She was also a member of Catholic Cursillo Group. She was an advocate for the Pro-Life movement.
 She enjoyed gardening, working alongside of her husband on the farm, sewing and making quilts for her family, going on trips and especially spending time with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Crum on July 18, 2014; one son, James Crum; three daughters-in-law, Jennylinde Crum, Robin Crum and Mary Crum; a son-in-law, Andrew Bare; a granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Crum; four brothers, Lucian, Herman, Leander and Cyril Burkhart; two sisters, Constantine Burkhart and Sister Joanna “Genevieve” Burkhart.
 Surviving are four daughters, Joann (Clifford) Swearman of Markleton, Pa., Mary Crum of Gahanna, Ohio, Elizabeth (Tim) Betts of Hebron, Ohio, Jane Bare of Liberty Township, Ohio; four sons, Robert Crum of Woodsfield, Edward Crum of Wheeling, Joseph (Susan) Crum of New Albany, Ohio, John (Patricia) Crum of Wooster, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Crum (James); 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
 Friends were received at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024, where rosary and vigil services were held at 7 p.m.
 Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, Ohio, with Fa­ther Nicholas Ward as the celebrant.
 Burial will follow in St. Sylvester Cemetery, Woodsfield.
