Twila (Bauman) Potts, 93, of Sardis, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Sardis, a daughter of the late Charles and Nellie (Bertschy) Bauman.

She was a faithful member of the Duffy Church of Christ. Twila graduated from the Ruth Brant Nursing School in Martins Ferry. She had worked at the Switzerland of Ohio School District as a school nurse, and then went on to work at the Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, West Virginia, from 1967 to 1990. Twila loved flowers, watching birds, reading, playing euchre, and animals. She enjoyed attending all her grandchildren’s events and was very proud of all their achievements. Twila was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and GG.

She is survived by a son Stephen (Cheryl) Potts; a daughter, Tabitha (Kelly) Dierkes; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Hoover, Janelle Potts, David Potts, Emily Dierkes and Eric (Kerrigan) Dierkes; two great-grandchildren, Megan Hoover and Mylee Hoover; and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Carl H. Potts; a son, Brian Potts; three sisters, Helen Fraley, Doris Marty and Pauline Frye; and one brother, Paul Bauman.

Friends and family were received prior to services Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the GRISELL FUNERAL HOME, 125 CLARINDA DR. CLARINGTON, with Evangelist Greg Yost officiating. She was laid to rest beside her beloved husband Carl, at Harter Cemetery, Hannibal.
