Ty A. Burkhart, 43, of Sardis, Ohio, passed away Friday December 22, 2023, near his home. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio, October 3, 1980, a son of Donald and Marlene Sefert Burkhart of Malaga, Ohio.
Ty was employed by Marion County Coal as a motorman and proud member of the UMWA 9909. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University in Aviation Management. He was an avid hunter, Buckeye and Cleveland Indian fan.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Herman and Hilda Burkhart, Arla Sefert, and Madeline and Dale Mellinger, and brother-in-law Sam Majors.
In addition to his parents Donald and Marlene Burkhart, he is survived by his wife Lacey Burkhart of Sardis, son Bryson, and daughter Shaylee, brother Todd (Niki) Burkhart of Malaga, sister Arla Potts of Dayton, Ohio, father- and mother-in-law, J.B. and Connie Majors of Barnesville, Ohio, nieces and nephews Karlie (Steve) Jones, Kia (Matt) Hoffman, Corey (Morgan) Potts, Caden Potts, Lindsey Burkhart, Josie Burkhart, Carson Burkhart, Avery Majors, Peyton Majors, Wyatt Majors, Walker Majors, and special nephew whom he considered a brother Casey (Jess) Potts, and his fur babies Toby, Doda, Ryker, and grand-dog Gunner.
Friends received from 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 26 until time of Celebration of Life at 7 p.m. at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield. Private graveside service will be held Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery Miltonsburg, Ohio.
