WILDA WHEELER BERTSCHY

TOGETHER AGAIN Wilda Wheeler Bertschy, 96, of Wadsworth, a former Monroe County resident during her early life, departed this life on April 15, 2023.

She was born March 4, 1927, in Cameron, to Elijah and Clara Twinem Wheeler.

Wilda was an only child.

She attended the Woodsfield Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Woodsfield High School, class of 1945. She was a member of the Vintage Club of the Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital Golden Agers. She enjoyed writing poetry and composed 52 poems. She also enjoyed reading, collecting flowers, gardening, traveling to other states and most of all the company of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry, and son, Paul.

She is survived by her son, Lloyd, and daughter-in-law, Norah, of Cincinnati, and daughter-in-law, Leslie, of Wadsworth; five grandchildren, Kelly Matriano-Lim and Kimberly Bertschy, of Wadsworth, Carrie and Doug Bertschy, of Cincinnati, and Ellen and Larry Cobler, of Hinckley; six great-grandsons, Camden, Daniel, and Corey Matriano-Lim, of Wadsworth, Wesly Bertschy-Hogue, of Cincinnati, and Vincent and Evan Cobler, of Hinckley; sister-in-laws, Florence Alleman, of Sardis, and Bonnie Bertschy, of Creston; in addition, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023, in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
