William “Bill” Ward, 84, of Beallsville passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, in Barnesville Hospital.
He was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Belmont County, a son of the late Delbert and Florence Wallace Ward.
Bill was a retired Heavy Equipment operator for Reed Excavating, and also for the former Y & O Coal and R & F Coal companies. He loved spending time with his family; hunting and trips to the Amish Country were two of his favorite pastimes.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Connie Johnson Ward, on July 23, 2022; four siblings, Wanda Mancini, Jean Stewart, Kaye Goudy and Jerry Ward.
Surviving are three children, Pam (Dan) Stewart, Lisa (Larry) Burkhart, and John “Bubba” Ward; three granddaughters, Sasha (Mark) Lawson, Ciera (Luke) Morrison and Taylor Stewart; seven great-grandchildren, Hallie, Zoey, and Ziva Lawson and Aerilyn, Jackson, and Alaia Morrison; four siblings, Mattie (Melvin) Bigler, Judy (Dave) Matusik, Dick (Rube) Ward, and Jess (Melba) Ward; a brother-in-law, Steve (Teresa) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; also many friends.
Friends were received for visitation Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, until the time of the funeral service with Pastor Floyd Atkinson officiating.
According to Bill’s wishes, cremation will take place and inurnment will be held at a time of the family’s choosing in the Beallsville Cemetery.
