William “Bill” Schwall, 82, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully June 13, 2025, surrounded by his family at Wheeling Hospital. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on April 18, 1943. He was the son of the late Roy W. “Hank” Schwall and Helen Mae Grant Schwall. He retired as the superintendent of maintenance at Ormet Corporation after 47 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, assistant chief of the Woodsfield Fire Department, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2247, Monroe Shrine Club, Grand Lodge F&AM of Ohio, Monroe Lodge # 189, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, Aladdin Shrine Temple, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a loyal Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Guardian fan.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and an infant sister Judith Kay Schwall. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo-Ann Schwall, his son Jay Schwall of Marietta, Ohio, his sister Jo Ellyn Kaiser (John Kaiser Jr.), a niece, Jill LeMasters (Jason LeMasters), a nephew, John Kaiser III (Johnna Kaiser), a great-nephew, Jaren LeMasters, a great-niece, Jocelyn LeMasters, a great-nephew, Jett Kaiser, a sister-in-law Lori Biedenbach (Greg Biedenbach).
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17 at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with Dalton Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield. Masonic Lodge service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
